The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office will take all necessary precautions for the health and safety of our employees, inmates and citizens.

We are taking all necessary precautions, monitoring all sources of information including but not limited to the President, Governor, CDC, Homeland Security, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Cape Girardeau County Health Department, county leaders, Emergency Management and many other services offered to Law Enforcement.

We have been in constant contact with our contracted health services for the jail and the staff have been following all recommendations.
The following list of precautions have been taken to safeguard our office and the jail: All lobby video visitation is cancelled until further notice
Off-site video visits are still being allowed. Attorney and probation/parole visits are being done in the old visitation area over phones All clergy visits and worship services are cancelled until further notice.

Medical staff are following all guidelines and recommendations. Continuous health checks are being implemented. We ask that if you do not have an emergency, please limit your visits to our facility.
For any services for inmates, we encourage everyone not to visit our facility but instead check our website for information and updates at www.capecountysheriff.org. Check our Facebook page for additional updates.

Our 9-1-1 Dispatch Center has implemented additional questions in the call-taking process, and we ask for everyone's patience as we implement these additional steps. We will continue to respond to all emergency situations. Officers will continue services with instructions on the recommended safeguards to protect themselves and the citizens.

In our effort to keep our citizens safe, if any elderly citizens in the county do not feel comfortable leaving their home and need assistance in obtaining their daily prescribed medications, our office will assist with delivery of those medications.
