New Release - Solved Burglary

  On Monday October 25h, 2021 the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office
 
  was alerted to a possible burglary located at a residence around the 900 block of county road 442.
 
  Numerous items were stolen including credit cards, a laptop, and diamond rings.
 
  During the investigation it was discovered that the stolen credit cards were being used at local businesses around town.
 
  This led to the apprehension and arrest of two individuals.
 
  Shane Anthony Lee Shafer has been formally charged from the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutor's Office with
 
  warrants issued for the following crimes:
 
  COUNT: I - On or about October 25th, 2021, in the County of Cape Girardeau, State of Missouri, Shane Anthony Lee Shafer
 
  committed the class D felony of burglary.
 
  COUNT: II - On or about October 25th, 2021, in the County of Cape Girardeau, State of Missouri, Anthony Lee Shafer
 
  committed the Class D felony of Stealing.
 
  COUNT: III - On or about October 25th, 2021, and November 2nd, 2021, in the County of Cape Girardeau,
 
  State of Missouri, Anthony Lee Shafer committed the class A misdemeanor
 
  of fraudulent use of a debit device.
 
  COUNT: IV - On or about October 25th, 2021, in the County of Cape Girardeau, State of Missouri, Anthony Lee Shafer
 
  committed the class B misdemeanor of property damage.
 
  Shafer is being held at the Cape Girardeau County Justice Center with a bond set at $10,000.
 
 
  Amber Dawn Chasten has been formally charged from the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutor's Office with a warrant
 
  issued for the following crime:
 
  COUNT: 1 - On or about October 25th, 2021, and November 2nd, 2021, in the County of Cape Girardeau, the State of Missouri,
 
  Chasten committed the class A misdemeanor of fraudulent
 
  use of a debit device.
 
  Chasten is being held at the Scott County Jail with a bond set at $5,000.
 
 
  The charge of an offense is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven Guilty.
