New Release - Unlawful possession of a firearm

On March 11, 2022, An investigation

resulted in the arrest of Raymond Carl Johnson,

31 yrs. of age, a wanted person from

Cape Girardeau with active felony warrants.

 

Deputies with assistance from Cape Girardeau

Police Department made a vehicle stop

to arrest Johnson for the active warrants.

A loaded stolen firearm was recovered

from Johnson's possession during the traffic stop.

 

The Prosecuting Attorney's office issued

an arrest warrant charging Johnson with

the following offense.

 

Count 1: Class C felony of unlawful

possession of a firearm

This warrant came with a $40,000 surety bond.

 

Johnson remains incarcerated in the

Cape Girardeau County Justice Center.

 

The Charge of an offense is merely an

accusation and the defendant is presumed

innocent until and unless proven guilty.
