On May 29, 2022, deputies from the

 sheriff's Office investigated a domestic

 assault complaint that resulted in the

 arrest of Cody M Burton, 30 yrs. of age,

 from Tamms, Il.

 The Prosecuting Attorney's office

 issued an arrest warrant charging

 Burton with the following offenses.

 Count 1: Class E felony of domestic

 assault in the third degree.

 Count 2: Class D felony of possession

 of a controlled substance

 Count 3: Class E felony of unlawful

 use of a weapon.

 This warrant came with a $10,000

 cash bond.

 Burton remains incarcerated in the

 Cape Girardeau County Justice Center.

 The Charge of an offense is merely

 an accusation and the defendant is

 presumed innocent until and unless

 proven guilty.
