UPDATE: 3/28/2023 - The federal warrant info has been approved for public release and is as follows.
Federal supervised release violation - the underlined offense of felon in possession of a firearm.
There is also an active state warrant for
Count: 1 Class C Felony of delivery of a controlled substance
Count: 2 Class D felony of possession of a controlled
substance
Cash Bond: 50,000
There will be additional charges stemming from yesterday's fleeing.
Burton is still not in custody and has been known to be armed and should be considered dangerous. Please do not approach,
if seen, contact the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office.

Around 2:11 pm this afternoon, deputies with the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office witnessed Austin T Burton, 26 years of age, confirmed to have a federal warrant, operating a vehicle southbound on US Highway 61 in Fruitland, Mo.
A traffic stop was attempted, and Burton fled from deputies.
A pursuit transpired, and spike strips were utilized to attempt to stop the vehicle, which was ineffective.
The pursuit continued and entered South Cape City, where deputies lost
visual of Burton.
The vehicle Burton was driving was discovered in Cape Girardeau a short time later. Burton is not in custody at the time of this posting.
